Roasted chickpeas and a variety of seasoning combinations

Ingredients
- 60 oz. (1.7 l) Arctic Gardens Chick Peas , rinsed and drained
- 1/4 c (60 ml) vegetable oil
- 4 tsp (20 ml) salt
- 4 tsp (20 ml) seasoning, your choice (see below)
Preparation
- Pat dry the chickpeas well with paper towels (this step is very important for the chickpeas to be crunchy).
- In a large bowl, combine chickpeas, oil and salt.
- Spread the chickpeas on a baking sheet (do not use parchment paper or tinfoil).
- Roast in the oven (350 °F) for 60 to 90 minutes, stirring every 20 minutes, or until chickpeas are crunchy (to taste).
- Season the preparation to taste and mix well. Let the chickpeas cool for 10 minutes before enjoying.
Note:
- Store the roasted chickpeas in a container, without closing the lid completely.
- Roasted chickpeas can be eaten as is or used as a garnish (salads, bowls, pasta, etc.).
Seasoning variations:
- Mexican seasoning: 1 tsp (5 ml) ground cumin + 1 tsp (5 ml) chili powder + 1/8 tsp (0.6 ml) ground cayenne + ½ tsp (2.5 ml) ground coriander.
- Indian seasoning: 1 tbsp (15 ml) of Garam masala + 1 tsp (5 ml ) of ground cumin + ¼ tsp (1.2 ml) of cayenne pepper
- Smoked curry seasoning: 1 tbsp (15 ml) mild curry + ¼ tsp (1.2 ml) smoked paprika
