Ingredients

Sauce

  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) Hoisin sauce
  • 2 cups (500 ml) Corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Sambal Oelek sauce
  • 1 ¼ cups (310 ml) Cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Low sodium soya sauce
  • 2 ½ cups (625 ml) Cold water
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Cornstarch

Preparation

  1. In a pot, mix together the ingredients for the sauce and bring to a boil. Set aside
  2. Toss the slices of pork in the cornstarch and shake off excess.
  3. In a fryer heated to 375° F (190° C), fry the pork until golden. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
  4. Cook the Niagara vegetable mix in boiling water or steam for 4 minutes. Set aside.
  5. Add the pork to the sauce, toss well and serve on the vegetables.
